| The Birthday Boy |
We had a great party for Miles 3rd birthday back in May. For the past couple of years we invite everyone we know and pray for good weather. Last year it was nice but a bit chilly. This year was beautiful, not too hot or too cold - and sunny! We rented a nearby Waldhutte (Forest House) with lots of open space for the kids to run around, a spacious kitchen and eating area and a nearby gartenbahn (
Small train).

The party was a huge success. And other than celebrating Miles birthday, it is also a chance to gather all our friends and say "Thanks" as they really are our extended family here. Not only was it great having everyone together, but the kids played amazingly well together. It was a pirate themed party and in no time there were two teams hiding the "treasure" from the other team. It was super cute to watch the kids play so well together with very little adult interaction.

Next to the Waldhutte is a train track (Gartenbahn) - grown men operating tiny steam trains. They are open to the public once or twice a month on Sundays but unfortunately it wasn't scheduled for the Sunday of Miles birthday. However someone else had booked it for a private party and one of the mommies from our party asked if our birthday kids could ride and she said yes. So all the kids and many of the adults got ride the trains several times. It is a beautiful long track. The kids loved it and everyone, kids and adults were grinning from ear to ear. It was a great surprise and bonus event for the party.

| Presents on his actual birthday |
It is hard to believe Miles is 3. He is a hoot. He will definitely be the class clown as he loves to make everyone laugh. He knows how to get under his sister's skin in the most clever ways. He is super smart and plays amazingly well on his own or with others. He loves his sister and imitates everything she does (good and bad). He is still pint sized but so sweet and gives the best kisses and hugs. His latest thing is saying "I love you as big as 16 gallopsies (Galaxies)". He was potty trained in a day - no accidents, no stress, no drama. It was like magic and one of my prouder mommy moments. He has this sweet little kid voice but his vocabulary and sentence structure is immense. Due to his pint size, people are always taken aback at his speaking skills since he's the size of a small 2 year old. He loves to scooter everywhere as fast as possible. I look forward to seeing what this kid can do.
