April Recap

Domodosolla, Italy
Wow looking back through the April photos, we were super busy having lots of warm springtime fun.

It started in early April with a spontaneous train trip to Italy for Easter weekend. Easter weekend called for rainy and cold weather in all of Switzerland, so we decided to scoot out of town/country to see if we could find some warmer weather.  And yes Domodosolla was a bit warmer but not quite as warm as we hoped.  We always enjoy Italy as the people are friendly, the coffee, food and gelato are not only delicious but significantly cheaper.  Alison ate a bit too much candy and chocolate on Easter day so let's just say we didn't get much sleep that night.  All in all, not too bad for a last minute weekend get away.

This was great exercise
In the middle of April, the kids and I went on a short mid week vacation to Germany with another mom and her two kids.  Our main destination was Ravensburger Park (Spieland). We left on a beautiful morning and took the car ferry across the Bodensee.  We stopped in Affenberg (Ape Mountain) to see the wild apes and stayed at a really great working farm.  I'm pretty sure the kids would've been thrilled to just play at the farm the entire time, as there was so much for them to do; playground, animals, horse ride, hay house.  But we did venture out the following day to Ravensburger Park.  And although our day was cut a bit short, the kids had a ball and we vowed to go back again in the summer.
Ah the Spring Tulips

Late April found us at the Knie Kinder Zoo, another super animal park on the other side of Zurich.  It is just a very kid friendly zoo, small and compact, so the kids can get really close to the animals.  The kids loved it and even got to ride on an elephant.

I love Switzerland in April as the flowers are so beautiful everywhere!!

March Recap

Love their friends
Early March found us skiing in Austria, (which I already blogged about). And we arrived back to some warmer weather.  March found us outdoors a bit more, going on bike rides, playing at playgrounds and heading to various animal parks.  We attended a super fun cooking class, celebrated birthdays with good friends and just enjoyed ourselves.  I am still running an English speaking playgroup every Monday morning as well as an English story time once a month.  I am forever grateful to my mama friends I've made here as well as the great friends the kids have made.  They are precious. Here is a picture recap.
